     Do you want your son to be self-reliant, dependable, and caring? Is it important to you that he learns traditional values such as honesty, trustworthiness, and respect for others? Do you want him to be a part of a safe, structured, nurturing environment that fosters the motivation to learn and discover while instilling strong values and morals?

     If you answered yes to any of these questions, then maybe Boy Scouts might be a place you want your son to be. Boy Scout is open to all boys who are in the 5th grade or who is 11 years old or has earned the Arrow of Light. Troop 78, chartered by the First United Methodist Church in Damascus, OH wants to join with America's favorite cool cat Garfield and invite you and your son to become a part of America's leading value-driven organization Boy Scouts.

     The Boy scout program is a valuable resource that can be both helpful for the scout as well as the family. While along the way both learning and setting goals while building and strengthening relationships within the family unit.

     Boy Scouting combines fun with educational activities and life long values. It also helps parents to help their son(s) strengthen character, develop good citizenship skills, and enhance both their mental and physical fitness. Additionally, the program provides boys with the positive peer groups and tools to help shape their future. In Boy Scouts your son(s) will learn ideals like honesty, bravery, and respect. These values will help them to make constructive decisions throughout their lifetime and gives them the confidence they need to grow and develop.

On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my Country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times, to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
